COCC BEND JOBFEST · THURSDAY, OCT. 1

Met us at JobFest? Let's keep talking.

Connect Central Oregon and five partners are hiring for live events, concerts, IT, AI, and community leadership: internships, paid gigs, and 20–30 hr/week roles. Every one of them offers extremely flexible schedules for students in school. Tell us a little about you and we'll point you to the role that fits.

Find my fit

Innovation

AI, enterprise tools, and a habit of trying things.

Mentoring

Fortune 50 leaders who've hired and coached for years.

Partnerships

Six organizations, one conversation.

Volunteerism

Volunteer Central Oregon connects you to local nonprofits.

Nobody is ever “just the help.”

Through Connect Central Oregon, students are always part of the work, with real visibility and room to grow. That might mean helping run events for Oregon State University's leadership team one week and a community concert the next. You'll meet the people who hire, and they'll meet you. And every partner builds schedules around your classes, not the other way around.

The roles

Here's the short version. The real conversation happens when we talk.

CONNECT CENTRAL OREGON

Community Leaders & Volunteer Program Interns

Help run Volunteer Central Oregon and community events, tell the stories of local nonprofits, or take on a capstone project (two completed so far, including one for our volunteer program). Like Willy Wonka, we're always looking for our Charlie, and the best way to be found is to join in and lead.

CONNECT CENTRAL OREGON

AI Manager

Run AI experiments across many models and tools (employers want broad AI fluency, so we never tie ourselves to one), support our AI-built Salesforce volunteer system, and help rebuild this website. Fun fact: Claude built this page through Elementor's MCP. A human checked it.

The AV team behind events for COCC, OSU-Cascades, the OSU Foundation, the Bend Chamber, Lonza, and more, including events for Oregon State University's leadership team. Roles include setup and strike, AV tech, warehouse, and project management support (which can be done offsite). DJs wanted too: one of ours right now is a COCC/OSU-Cascades student.

The crew behind Munch & Music and General Duffy's concerts. Coming up: Fall Festival and the Lakeview concert in Redmond.

What role fits me?

Tell us what you're studying and what you enjoy. We'll match you with a role and follow up personally. No resume yet? No problem. Start here.

Got it! Scot will follow up personally. (Yes, a human reads every one of these.)

Who you'll work with

Connect Central Oregon is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by three Fortune 50-level executives who spent their careers hiring, mentoring, and coaching: Scot Brees, a datacenter development expert whose background spans Apple, eBay, and PayPal; Jim Fister, a former Intel executive who chairs the Deschutes County Budget Committee and the Sunriver Service District; and the late Doug Watson of HP, former chair of the Tower Theatre Foundation. You'll connect with Scot and Jim, then we'll get you directly in front of the hiring managers, and maybe even into a gig. We prep people for immediate leadership roles, and we've done it: one of our Charlies joined Leadership Bend on a CCO sponsorship and went on to lead Emerging Talent for the Bend Chamber/bendNEXT Foundation. Just saying.
