GivingTuesday is a global movement, not a membership—you don’t need to sign up or register to participate.
It has no set list of participating nonprofits, so you can support any cause that promotes positive change.
Whether you give your time, talents, money, or simply spread kindness, your generous actions make a difference.
This open-source movement welcomes anyone who wants to create impact, whether through a registered charity, a local community group, or acts of generosity in your own neighborhood.
The Giving Tuesday movement recognizes Five Forms of Generosity – and Connect Central Oregon’s programs, including Central Oregon Volunteer Connect, embraces all of them:
- Time: Volunteer an hour, an afternoon, or ongoing support
- Talent: Share your skills: teaching, mentoring, building, creating
- Treasure: Donate goods, food, clothing, or supplies
- Testimony: Use your voice to raise awareness and inspire others
- Ties: Bring your connections: invite friends, family, and colleagues to join you
How to Give
Every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give.
Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor out, or showing up for an issue or people we care about, we each have something to contribute. Identify your gifts, pick a cause that gets you fired up, and give back. The Story Behind GivingTuesday
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
GivingTuesday strives to build a world in which the catalytic power of generosity is at the heart of the society we build together, unlocking dignity, opportunity, and equity around the globe.
GivingTuesday’s global network collaborates year-round to inspire generosity around the world, with a common mission to build a world where generosity is part of everyday life.
